The much-anticipated iPhone 15 series is right on track with that big three-year cycle they’ve got going. And let us tell you, it’s gearing up to be one of the coolest iPhones we’ve seen so far!
There’ve been some sneaky leaks and hush talk going around about the iPhone 15. We’ve heard whispers about missing protective cases, crazy storage options, and a display that’s going to blow minds. But wait, there’s more! The real kicker is that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max might be gearing up to give us some crazy-fast performance.
Here’s what we think we know and why it matters!
iPhone 15 Ultra or Pro Max?
It looks like Apple might drop an iPhone 15 Ultra right alongside the iPhone 15 Pro Max. But hold up! Recent reports, like one from AppleInsider, led by Andrew O’Hara, are saying that Apple might just surprise us with the iPhone 15 Ultra instead of the regular Pro Max.
What makes this Ultra version stand out? Well, it’s all about that camera game. A supercharged periscope telephoto lens could be in the works. Imagine! Some other ideas have been floating around too, like better charging and more storage, but there’s not a lot of proof for those ideas.
If the iPhone 15 Ultra does step into the spotlight, it will probably share most of its specs with the iPhone 15 Pro. There’s even a chance it could have a titanium body.
Apple is rumored to be making changes to its iPhone design. They’re keeping the volume buttons the same but swapping out the mute switch with an “Action” button (like the Apple Watch Ultra). With this new button, you could do all sorts of cool stuff like turn on Do Not Disturb, Save Power, Open the Camera, and more.
This new button might also take the place of the current Ring/Silent switch next to the volume buttons. There are some clues in the iOS 17 code that hint at what this Action button could do. It might let you switch to Silent Mode, turn on the Camera and Flashlight, set off Shortcuts, get into Focus mode, open apps like Magnifier and Translate, and even start Voice Memos. Cool, right?
Apple is changing the port on its new iPhone 15 models in Europe. This change might happen for iPhones all around the world or only for the ones sold in Europe. We’re not sure yet.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models will have USB 3.2 speeds, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will have Lightning-equivalent USB 2.0 speeds but in the USB-C format.
This could make the iPhone 15 go from 0% to full about 30 minutes quicker. But we don’t know for sure if the iPhone 15 will get even quicker charging, like going up to 50% in just half an hour.
There’s still so much more to discover. So, stay tuned to get more updates and exciting insights about the new “iPhone 15”!
